Sydney and Carly created a 10+10 lesson on how to make a paper
airplane. They begin by filming and taking pictures of each step to make a step by step direction list of making the ultimate paper airplane. They walked us through each of the steps and they we tested each paper airplane by having a contest. After we made all of our paper airplanes we went out into the hall to
see who’s could fly the farthest. Then the peoples airplanes that flew the
farthest went into the finals to see who was #1.

Halloween Party
Exploring Teaching celebrated Halloween in style today.

In groups, students each utilized an instructional strategy
from the previous week to teach the class a mini Halloween activity.
The activities included:
- · Making witches houses
- · Ghost marshmallows
- · Ate donuts off a string
- · Had a Halloween alpha race
- · Wrote a spooky ghost store with one words sentences
- · Played Halloween Scategories
- · Played Horror Jeopardy
Kindness Campaign
Our class participated in a
compliment campaign this month. Students wrote compliments to other students
each day, creating a chain of positivity in our classroom community. Each
student was given their final completed chain on Halloween to take home.
This instructional strategy helped create a
positive learning environment and demonstrated how learning can take place over
many days.

Door Decorating Contest
One of the jobs many teachers find difficult is
using creativity to design their classroom. Students were tasked with the job
of meeting with a teacher, listening to their ideas, needs and wants to
brainstorming a door decoration for their room. Students were given 50 minutes
today to plan, assembly and photograph their door decoration.
This year’s theme was based on the season OR anti-bullying messages.
